Even though the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic stopped many entertainment activities for a few months, BTS fans continued to see today’s positive energy. They had many live stream sessions with fans during the pandemic and also regularly uploaded entertaining videos.
However, the group recently acknowledged that they have been fighting mentally in private for some time. In fact, they even discover that they ‘shed some tears’.
BTS had to postpone a world trip due to the pandemic
In early 2020, BTS released their single ‘On’, which quickly rose to number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became at that time their highest charting single.
The group was about to embark on a world tour to promote their albums Map of the soul: personal en Map of the soul: 7, but the pandemic changed its plans. Their tour, which was to last from April to September, was suddenly postponed. Some shows were even canceled.
To make it up, BTS held a virtual concert series called “Bang Bang Con.” It attracted more than 700,000 viewers from more than 100 regions.

“At first it was really hard and I felt like we lost everything we did and what we could do,” Jimin says in a new interview with Extra.

BTS, however, did not come to this stage of her career by moping. RM reveals that they decided to change their mindset and put their energy into more productive things.

In April, RM also told fans that BTS was working on new music during the pandemic, and fans are finally starting to see the definitive products of their hard work.
On August 21, BTS released their first English single called “Dynamite.” The song came out in the midst of much anticipation, and it broke YouTube records quickly after its release. It garnered more than 100 million views in less than 24 hours! In addition, “Dynamite” also broke several Spotify and iTunes records, which show that even during a pandemic, BTS and ARMY can still bring their A-game.
Fans can perform BTS ‘Dynamite’ live for the first time at the MTV Video Music Awards. The group remains set in South Korea, although they have recorded their performance to be broadcast alongside the rest of the award ceremony. The MTV VMAs will air on August 30th.
