BTS has just broken this YouTube record by reaching 101.1 million views with ‘Dynamite’


Shockingly absolutely no one, BTS broke many records with their new single “Dynamite.” One of the most impressive records that BTS achieved with the song was setting the record for the most watched YouTube video in the first 24 hours. To do this, BTS reached 101.1 million views on YouTube in the first 24 hours of the release of the “Dynamite” music video, deleting the previous record.

‘Dynamite’ is a fun disco-pop song

When BTS announced the single this past July, they told fans that they wanted to bring positivity into the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19).

“We have prepared a new single for ARMY, set for August 21st. We’re making an album ready for the second half of this year, but decided to release a single first, because we want to reach our fans as soon as possible. “Because of COVID-19, people all over the world have had difficult times and we wanted to share some positive energy with our fans,” the K-pop group said during a VLIVE on July 27.

The song has English lyrics, which BTS called a ‘new challenge’ during the VLIVE broadcast.

“We also needed a breakthrough in these unforeseen times, so we worked on this new song. This is also a new challenge for us. When we first heard and recorded the song, we were moved and our spirits lifted. We can not wait to share this song with you all and enjoy it together, ”said the members.

“Dynamite” is a disco-pop song with exciting lyrics, and the music video is full of bright colors and fun choreography. With the song, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook invite listeners to dance with them and “put the night in the air.”

BTS reached 101.1 million views with ‘Dynamite’

Within the first 24 hours after the release of “Dynamite”, the Korean band broke several YouTube records. The music video premieres with a peak of 3 million viewers simultaneously, reaching the biggest YouTube premiere of all time.

The “Dynamite” music video then became the fastest YouTube video to reach 10 million views after being done in 20 minutes. It viewed 20 million times in just an hour and 14 minutes.

Most impressively, “Dynamite” became the most watched YouTube video in the first 24 hours, beating BLACKPINK’s record of 86.3 million views with the “How You Like That” music video. When “Dynamite” reached the 24-hour mark, it appeared to have reached 98.3 million views. YouTube and Big Hit Entertainment then confirmed that BTS reached 101.1 million views on YouTube in the first 24 hours with the music video ‘Dynamite’.

Other records BTS broke with ‘Dynamite’

After his release, “Dynamite” debuted at no. 1 on Spotify’s daily Global Top 50 chart. The song broke Taylor Swift’s previous record of 7,742 million streams with “Cardigan” and reached 7,778,950 streams in one day. BTS now has the biggest Spotify debut of 2020 with “Dynamite.”

On iTunes, “Dynamite” set a record for the fastest song at 100 no. 1s, and it reaches that number in eight hours. BTS also became the only artist to have five songs on 100 Number 1s on iTunes, and their songs “My Time”, “Black Swan”, “Moon”, “Your Eyes Tell” and “Dynamite” all achieved this feat .
