Bridgetton’s Trailer: Shondaland’s Spicy, Critical Regency Romp

It is universally acknowledged that any show that concerns regency society, slander and sweeping ball gowns will appeal directly to me. Netflix’s new Regency era series Bridgeton Jane connects the stain-esque cortisonship with the gossip girl’s high society scandal, which seems like a sizzling good time.

Bridgeton, Shondaland’s Netflix is started by Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dinver), the eldest daughter of a powerful English family, as she enters London society. For those unfamiliar with the lingo of the Regency era, this means that Daphne is preparing to fight every other character woman in London to secure a successful husband – in this case, the most ambitious catch of the season is the rebellious Duke H. Hastings (Reggie-Jean Page). As if marriage and elbow rubbing aren’t enough in high society, the high society gossip raga written by the mysterious Lady Whistletown (voice of Julie Rendrews) is coming to everyone with that warm, juicy gus.

Bridgeton Debut on Netflix on December 25 – Watch the full Christmas.
