Breath of the Wild Cut Content Resurfaces Online

De Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was many years in development. Many people forget, but before it was a Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite game, it was in development for the Wii U and the Wii U alone. When it was in development, there were a variety of reports about its apparent development problems. So it should come as no surprise that it has some substantially cut content that it did not make in the final version of the game that appeared on the Switch in March 2017.

As Nintendo notes Everything, back in 2017 during a CEDEC session held by Nintendo, some images of De Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild back when it was in the early stages of development were revealed. While the images are years old, they have only recently begun to really make the rounds.

The images reveal a variety of real Japanese locations, which were probably implanted for testing. But more interesting than this is the revelation that Nintendo had placed somewhere Skyward Sword’s skydiving mechanic in the game. Of course, this did not come in the final version, but it almost seems like it.

Below you can view the images and cut content for yourself:

At the time of publication, Nintendo has not commented on the images, leaving Nintendo fans with small details and plenty of room for imagery.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is available via the Wii U, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch. The sequel is currently in development for the last two platforms, but for now there is no word on when it will release.
