The decision to end the negotiations and stop hiring Rafinha did not go down well within Flamengo’s football department. The managers of the portfolio, Marcos Braz and Bruno Spindel, made an offer, accepted by the side at the end of February, but saw how the finance department blocked the deal.

Braz and Spindel understand that Rafinha’s request is within what is fair and possible for the club, however, that was not the thought of another wing of the board. The situation within football was pointed out as a political and not a financial issue, which left the team very upset.
Internally, it was even left to the marketing department, designated by football as a portfolio that has not delivered what is needed and does not receive the same position. It should be remembered that Flamengo has lost sponsors in recent months and has four empty spaces in the uniform.
In addition, the club has been losing followers day after day. To give you an idea, before the pandemic, Flamengo reached the 150 thousand point mark. Today it has 59,863 according to the program’s website.
It is not the first time that football has been worn out internally by a negotiation. Last year, the renewal of the contract with Diego Alves went through a similar process.
Without an agreement with Flamengo, Rafinha has already given the “ok” to his coach to listen to other clubs.
