Brazil registers 2,730 deaths from Covid in 24 hours and reaches 15,000 deaths in a week for the first time | Coronavirus

Registered Brazil 2,730 deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours and totaled 290,525 deaths this Friday (19). With that, the moving average of deaths in the country in the last 7 days reached 2,178, another record in the index. For the first time, the country hit the mark 15 thousand deaths in a week. Compared to the average of 14 days ago, the variation was + 50%, indicating upward trend in deaths from the disease.

This is what a new survey by the media consortium shows on the situation of the coronavirus pandemic in Brazil, based on data from state health departments, consolidated at 8 pm this Friday.

There are already 58 days in a row with the moving average of deaths above the 1,000 mark, and by the twelfth day the mark appears above 1,500. Were 21 records followed in this index, recorded from February 27 to now.

In confirmed cases, since the beginning of the pandemic 11,877,009 Brazilians have had or have the new coronavirus, with 89,409 of those confirmed on the last day. The moving average for the last 7 days was 72,670 new diagnoses per day –also a record in that average. This represents a variation of + 18% in relation to the cases registered in two weeks, which indicates upward trend also in diagnoses.

Twenty states and the Federal District are increasing in deaths: PR, RS, SC, ES, MG, SP, DF, GO, MS, MT, AP, PA, RO, TO, AL, CE, PB, PE, PI, RN and SE.

This comparison takes into account the average number of deaths in the last 7 days until the publication of this balance in relation to the average registered two weeks ago (understand the criteria used by the G1 to analyze pandemic trends).

It is worth mentioning that there are states in which low death rates can lead to large percentage variations. Moving average data is generally in decimal numbers and rounded to facilitate presentation of the data.

Vaccination balance against Covid-19 this Friday (19) indicates that 11,492,854 people have already received the first dose of vaccine against Covid-19, according to data published until 8:00 p.m. The number represents 5.43% of the Brazilian population.

The second dose has already been applied to 4,122,203 people (1.95% of the country’s population) in all states and the Federal District. In total, 15,615,057 doses were applied throughout the country.
