Bose Earbuds 700 revealed, and AirPods Pro should be concerned

AirPods Pro must be on guard. The Bose’s Earbuds 700 headphones have just appeared in pre-launch footage, and it looks like they’ll be a strong competitor to Apple’s high-end friends.

A new video (via Gadgets360) by YouTube user Josh Quill shows off Bose’s new noise-canceling headphones. There are no rumors of an upcoming release or pricing details, but with the buds looking ready for sale here, it looks like we won’t be expecting much.

The box in the video has “QuietComfort Headphones” prominently written on the front, although these buttons are not believed to be part of the QuietComfort range.

The back of the box mentions features like noise cancellation, a transparency mode (to allow a user to hear the outside world when using the buds), and sweat and water resistance. The text also mentions that the buds have a 6-hour battery life, with 12 more in the charging case, which can be charged wirelessly.

Inside are the paddles and charging case, as well as two alternative gel tips and a USB-A to USB-C charging cable. The buds have a thick, pill-shaped body, with gel tips that extend back into a small arm to stabilize the bud inside the user’s ear. They also have blue LEDs on the outside, which seem to show if the buttons are connected to a device.

The charging case is also pill-shaped, with a button in the bottom half to open the lid, another in the center of the charging jacks for Bluetooth pairing, and a row of five white LEDs at the bottom, presumably for show battery level.

The Earbuds 700 headphone counterparts, the Bose 700 headphones, are our choice for both the best noise-canceling headphones and the best headphones in general. They provide great audio, great controls, and a long battery life, and they look great, too. That’s why we have high hopes that the smallest Bose tracker can take on Apple’s AirPods Pro.
