Back when singer-songwriter Tony Luca gave an audition Sound Season 2, its ex Mickey Mouse Club The co-star, then coach Christina Aguilera, didn’t turn up for him, and neither did she. Identify Him. The chaos continued and tensions between Christina and Tony’s final coach Adam Levine flared up throughout the season. Adam and Christina of course are long gone Sound. But, as one of the series’ original coaches, Black Shelton, returned for the 20th season this Monday, he committed an equally weak pace – a realization Dishner, 45-year-old Pete Moroz, 25 years ago was actually his bandmate.

However, unlike Guillara / Luca’s situation, this gaff was relaxed with a sense of humor and humor (fellow coach Kelly Clarkson found the whole situation enjoyable, and rightly so). And finally, there was a reunion of young riders, as Black in this case Was Turned, thus giving Pete a chance to join his team. “We’re getting the band back!” Exclamation Black

Let’s backtrack here for a moment. When Pete Moroz was 19, Pete Mitchell went on stage, and aspired to be the “next Gareth Brooks,” as he walked around Nashville with a revolving band of songwriters known as the Young Riders – and one of the most famous songwriters to make that round. Was black. Pete apparently took a very different path after Young Riders in his life, as he became a sales rap and family man while Black became the biggest star in the country’s music. Initially, it seemed that Pete could have strong feelings on Monday Sound Episode: While Blake was walking around, Pete raised an eyebrow and pointed in his direction, later saying to Blake, “Oh, I’ll see you.” Blake said, “Uh-oh. Looks like there’s something history! That’s not usually a good thing with me! ”

Eventually, Pete reveals much about his identity, Blake’s joy and shock, and he jokingly accuses Blake of stealing his bass player that day. But this was not a real feud – apparently Pete and Black have a similar spirit – so, Pete was less likely to sign another coach, who in turn, John Legend, to “settle the score.” Instead, in the “full circle” moment, Pete happily joined Team Black. (As soon as they started reminding me of Blake’s 90’s mullet, it was clear that Pete was “going with the old cowboy.”) Blake said of this Pete reunion, “It’ll just explode to catch up with him. And work with him. But the main reason I’m excited about it on my team is that I think he’s a Harlewa singer. “And so, not the young riders (Pete described himself as a token” old man “. This Sound) Will ride again.

To be honest, I’m really surprised that Blake hit his red button for Pete. Pete didn’t perform the country song (he can’t find Blind Faith’s “My Way”) and his vocals were unexpectedly high and twang-free, and a little light. (“Heluva Singer” was highly praised.) Blake later recalled that when Pete first came to Nashville years ago, he was “more of a blues person.” Indeed, if there had been a coach I would have expected to go for Pete, it would have been the same high-stakes Nick Jonas. But I think Nike recruited a couple of contestants to the Season 20 premiere on Monday – including my current favorite, Rhine Stern – which has a much better chance of making the semifinals than the more normal Pete.

Yes, Nick is back Sound, Jobros fans. He made her Sound Made his coaching debut last spring and finished third with his worthy finalist Thunderstrom Artis, but he certainly could not finish Sound Experience, as that season was derailed by COVID-19 and had to go to remote filming for live plays. So Nick is left for the do-over. Blake’s fiance, Gwen Stephanie, filled Nick’s red chair last season when the show returned to Universal, and he eventually won his first win as coach – so, Nick will follow Gwen’s lead and score. Its First victory this year? If the hyper-rival Black has nothing to do with it. But, based on Monday’s episode, young player Nick seems to be on the roll.

Talk about rolls … enjoy the reunion of Nick’s recollection with him Sound Customs above (Rick can Please Become a Coach on Season 21?), And other Blind Itions Dishes of Monday’s Season 20 Premiere:

Kenzi Wheeler, 22: “Don’t Close Your Eyes”

Speaking of mullets, Kenzi had a “triple-threat” version of the infamous hairstyle with shaved sides. Plus “A rare widow’s peak.” But apparently Kelly believed Black was the real threat here, so she used one of her blocks to make sure Black couldn’t recruit Kenzi. Considering that this was the first performance of the entire season, and there are competitors who sound like Kenzi every season, I think this was a spot on Kelly’s part. But Kelly Kenzi was screaming for the vintage sound of ‘deep nda’ 80s / ’90s’, screaming, “Pick me up! I fight so hard for you! ”

Who turned? All four coaches. Blake just turned on the principle, even though he knew he was already out of the race.

Result: Tim Kelly. Thanks, his block didn’t go to waste.

Dana Monique, 41: “Freeway of Love”

This fierce show-woman took a big risk with Aretha, but thankfully, she got ready for the job. Professionally, it reminded me of the former Sound Coach Jennifer Hudson (who will play Aretha Franklin in the upcoming biopic) Respect). The former cruise singer was honored with his powerful pipes, sleek ad-libs and vamps and P stage stage presence.

Who turned? Nick and John – but surprisingly NoKelly. (She explained that she did not expect to see a chance against John.)

Result: Team Jonas! Wow. Maybe Kelly should turn after all.

Why Anthony, 19: “Put Me Down”

An ex-child deserted who once sang Ellen And Showtime on Apollo And even for the Obamas at the White House, Cam started soft and slow, and this produced Sam Smith’s ballad. What a delicious and lovely effect. Total team seemed like legendary stuff, but Nike blocked Jon. However, the glamorous outlaw Blake did a great job for the team, “keeping that lane open” and vowed not to recruit any similar soul / pop / gospel singers who would compete with Team Blake’s competition.

Who turned? Nick, Black and John blocked.

Result: Team Black! That was another surprising result. Blake’s bold promise clearly worked. He better renew on that.

Christine Cain, 27: “Watermelon Sugar”

Christine confessed that she was struggling with confidence because of being bullied and body-shy in high school. She also revealed that this was her fourth public performance. I don’t think she was quite ready Sound. She had a nice rasa and an interesting song selection, on which she put her own natural spin, but her delivery was timid. She never let go and I hope she will. I thought this would be an audition for a chair, but a “small crack” in Christine’s voice came to John’s ears, while Kelly praised his “perfect vibe.”

Who turned? John and Kelly.

Result: Team Legend. John may be the only person to help Christine grow her intrusive craft.

Devan Black Jones, 35: “Hard Place”

Dewan is a member of the Afrobeat band and can “sing with heart and soul” in multiple languages, so I expect more dimension from his cover. This was a small sound, and Dewan seemed to hold back. The same frustrations I felt with Christine Cain’s performance. But Nick was impressed and interested from the top of Dewan’s register – “I think there’s a lot going on,” he said – and gave him a chance.

Who turned? Only Nick, but I’m sure Dewan, a self-produced Nick Fanboy, was okay with that.

Result: Team Jonas, obviously.

Rain Stern, 22: “Electric Feel”

Here comes the rain! This rogue was my night time. From a selection of mid-ugh fps hipster songs, to a piece of groovy electro-pop guitar, for its solemnity and pride, this self-described “black sheep” was checking all the b-checking for me. But the skillful use of her mobility that impressed me the most. Just when I felt the performance was going nowhere, she kept taking it higher, and it exploded at the very end. Maybe That is Why did those coaches feel frustrated, because they are surrounded by what they are hearing. Blake later told Raine, “You really know how to milk the show. … You’re a rare find, “when Nick (when Ryan leads a nine-part band, for which she arranges and composes everything) calls him,” One of the most unique creatives and artists we’ve seen on this show. . “

Who turned? John, Black and Nick.

Result: Tim Jonas, understand. I think Rain and Nick Electric will be a pop-rock combination.

Corey Ward, 34: “Dance Yourself”

Corey was denied a chair last year, but what a difference the season makes. Clam Scott / King’s Leon-inspired Robin’s hit movie prologue – and last season’s soundtrack, to protest “Way We Down Down” – back to singing “fits me better as a person and an artist”. The James Arthur / Damien Rice fan was so curious that the two coaches turned around almost immediately. And its genuinely enthusiastic big finish a Moment. Along with Rain, Corey is my other new favorite.

Who turned? Surprisingly, only John and Kelly. I thought Corey’s performance was worth four chairs. Regardless, I’m glad he got a spot this season. It’s ready.

Result: Tim Kelly. Kelly, who had been unusually stingy with her turn all night, was thrilled by the result, calling Corey a “cant not a mist artist … a dream artist to be on your team.” She definitely made this one together.

Victor Solomon, 22: “Glory”

The stepper and college ledge campus leader were sure to sing John Legend, a trick that often backfires with John Legend. But Victor’s version was so majestic, John not only turned around – he also gave Victor a standing ovation, and even claimed that Victor had done a better job with him. John later performed with Victor on one of his other most popular compositions, “The Common People,” which Victor performed during his 8th grade talent show. Victor won that talent show, and seeing how well he kept up his singing with John, he can now win this more high-profile show. (Side note: Other sides of Blake made funny jokes about the premiere because of Victor’s ition dish, when he didn’t even realize that “Glory” was John’s song. Apparently Blake didn’t see the Oscars in 2015.)

Who turned? Black, Nick and John.

Result: Team Legend of course. But Victor was threatened with “shaking things” when he props for some sc-worthy play creation … and it seemed he would prefer Black instead. Mental!
