‘Bill & Ted Face the Music’ releases new trailer more excellent at Comic-Con

“Bill & Ted Face the Music” has changed its release plans and will instead debut in premium video on demand and in selected movie theaters on September 1 as coronavirus cases increase across the country.

The announcement comes after the news that Christopher Nolan’s “Tenet” has been removed from the release schedules, although it is still expected to launch in 2020. Since many theater chains hoped to set their reopening dates for the Launch of “Tenet”, the move caused exhibitors to change their plans

Already, AMC Theaters, the country’s largest theater chain, has delayed reopening plans, and now plans to resume business in mid-to-late August. Rival circuits like Regal and Cinemark could follow suit, especially if Disney’s “Mulan” is removed from its August 21 release date.

Given the increase in coronavirus cases, it’s unclear when theaters in the United States will be able to reopen to a significant degree. There are still no signs that New York City and Los Angeles, the country’s two largest movie markets, will be allowed to restart operations.

Originally released on August 21, “Bill & Ted 3” is the last film to skip a traditional theatrical release amid the pandemic. Other films, such as Andy Samberg’s “Palm Springs,” Judd Apatow’s “The King of Staten Island,” the third entry in “SpongeBob” and Disney’s “Artemis Fowl,” have altered the plans and been released in homes. at a time when most movie theaters are closed and people are still staying home.

“Bill & Ted Face the Music”, starring Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter, is the third installment in the science fiction comedy series, after 1989’s “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure” and “Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey” 1991. The last entry has been in progress since 2010. The film is directed by Dean Parisot (“Galaxy Quest”), while franchise veterans Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon wrote the script. Set 29 years after their last adventure, “Bill and Ted 3” follows time-traveling best friends as they embark on a wild adventure to save the world.

Orion Pictures, the studio that released the film, also showed a new trailer the Thursday before Comic-Con at Home. The cast will participate in a panel, hosted by Kevin Smith, on July 25.
