“If the revelations in today’s Atlantic article are true, they are another mark of how deeply they disagree with the role of President Trump and I as President of the United States,” Biden said in a statement.
The former vice president said the country has a “truly sacred responsibility” to take care of army members and their families during their deployment and after they return home.
“From the forefront of our own revolution to Bellewood to the Normandy coast, to the mountains of Afghanistan, the sacrifices and bravery of our troops and their willingness to serve their nation must be honored,” Biden wrote.
“Duty, honor, country – these are the values that drive our service members. These are the values that have shaped America’s defense for centuries, “he added.
“Make sure our American heroes know that I will take their backs and honor their sacrifices,” Biden said, promising that he would be the next commander-in-chief.
His remarks came after a report in the Atlantic quoted unnamed sources as saying that Trump had allegedly denounced members of the US service.
Ahead of a planned visit to a French cemetery outside Paris in 2018 to honor American dead, Trump reported that members of the U.S. service buried there during World War I were called “losers.”
Trump finally canceled a last-minute visit to the cemetery, saying that because of the rain, the helicopter could not fly to the site, noting that the Secret Service would not be able to operate him.
However, according to four sources familiar with the incident, Trump was reluctant to travel to the cemetery because he was worried that the rain would tarnish his hair.
In another conversation, Trump reported that 1,800 Marines who lost their lives in the Battle of Bellewood were “suckers” to be killed. The president asked aides about the historic details of the WWI, including “Who were the good men in this war?”
This is not the first time Trump has made controversial remarks about the giants.

The Atlantic also reported that Trump told senior staff he would not support Maine Cocaine’s funeral and saw flags at the White House as he saw half-staff come down to recognize the senator.
Trump vehemently denied the Atlantic report, angrily calling it “fake news” and “slander” and referring to the author and his source as “false.”
“If they really existed, if people really did exist, they would say, they have a low life and they are liars. And I never said anything about my autumn heroes like I would never be willing to swear. There’s no one in Pennsylvania on Thursday evening. Trump told reporters at Joint Base Andrews after a campaign shut down that he had more respect.
“So, I think that’s a horrible, horrible thing. It clearly became a very sad evening when I saw a statement like that. No animal, no one, would an animal say that? ”Trump continued.
On Twitter, he insisted that while he disagreed with McCain on policy issues, he allowed the national flag to be flown by half-staff and the use of Air Force aircraft to transport McCain’s casket from Arizona.
Trump also denied that McCain had ever lost, saying “whatever, or whatever, I was asked to swear, I never told our great fallen soldiers anything but heroes.”
Many social media users reaffirmed Trump’s remarks in 2015 where he made contradictory remarks about McCain, saying he “doesn’t like losers.”
They also noted that Trump shared a link to an article about his comment entitled “Donald Trump: John McCain is a Loser.” ”
