Last year Doom Eternal And Animal Crossing: New Horizons Both were released on March 20, the same day. Inspired by this small alliance, fans of both franchises began to share the art of online friendship between Isabel and Doom Slayer of Animal Crossing. Both Bethesda and Nintendo are familiar with this fan art, and have even promoted it! To celebrate the beginning of 2021, Bethesda made things a little more official, sharing an image of the Nandroid figures playing cheerfully with the caption for Doom Slayer and Isabelle, “Happy New Horizons.” It’s a fun way to ring in the new year, and it gives fans of friendship so much fun!

It will be interesting to see if the friendship between Doom Slayer and Isabel is ever accepted within the actual game. While it would be pretty stupid in a Doom or Animal Crossing game, there is one place it could work: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Doom Slayer has long been a rumor for the game, and with the purchase of Bethesda by Micro. The publisher already has two fighters in the game, and three representatives in companies like Capcom, Konami and Square Enix, so it won’t be out of the realm of possibility. Isabelle is a playable character The final, It’s not hard to imagine how much fans will love seeing the pair actually appear together!
For now, the friendship between Isabel and Doom Slayer must be brought to life only by these small acknowledgments between the two companies, and by the fan art that made it one thing in the first place. Fans have something to say about the way the two franchises formed this alliance, and how it went from a simple joke about a year ago to a recurring alliance between the two companies. Even if nothing more comes out of it, it’s good to see what influence fans can have on gaming!
