This week (probably) would have been the week of Amazon’s first day, if the coronavirus pandemic had not stirred the retail industry (and almost any other industry). While we’ll have to wait at least until October for the first day to come, Newegg is moving forward with its annual FantasTech sale. Typically a competitor to Prime Day, the FantasTech sale discounts tons of technology, including PCs and gaming accessories. The best deal on that sale is probably the MSI GS75 Stealth, a lightweight gaming laptop, on sale for $ 2,299.99, or $ 600 off the retail price. Amazon is also ruling out some PC accessories, in particular the HyperX Alloy Origins Core, a gaming keyboard without ten keys.
Nintendo Switch owners should check out two offers on Amazon. The first is a Nintendo Switch Pro controller, up to $ 59.99 (generally $ 69.99). The second is a Gold Box deal of the day on storage devices, including Switch-compatible microSD cards. Best value is a 512GB SanDisk Extreme model, on sale for $ 79.99, which is 60% off its retail price.
Finally, Amazon is extending its $ 10 pre-order discount on select video games Far Cry 6, which will be out in February. The latest entry in Ubisoft’s first-person shooter franchise is available to pre-order on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for $ 49.94. (Note that it will also be playable on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, though pre-orders for those versions are not yet available.)
