Base PS4 and Xbox One Units have major issues in Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 has already sold very well, but gamers on their original PS4s and Xbox Ones are reporting major issues with resolution, frame rate, texture, pop-in and more. Performance on their old machines, and the results are often not beautiful. Perhaps the most notable comparison is the following memoir (taken from a stream by GameCultLive, around 1:01:00).

Cyberpunk 2077 is currently the last-gen game on the console (although it benefits from new-gen hardware upgrades), and has also been announced, but was never shown pre-releasing on the original PS4 and Xbox One units.

While it’s not unexpected that Cyberpunk will make a graphical compromise to run on older console models, the drop in loyalty has surprised and disappointed many.

Around both consoles, users are reporting the long wait for texture for length, the blur effect across the screen, and the main frame rate drops. Errors are also common, players report T-posing NPCs, do not move in conversations, and glitches animations:

Extensive crash reports, especially on the PS4, have also been circulating:

It’s not clear if all of the above examples have Day One patches installed – although some players (including Kotku) are reporting that they don’t seem to be able to download it. However, our own base has been updated to the Xbox One footage Day One version, and there are also moments where the texture fails to load and the frame rate drops (especially towards the end in montage order):While CD Project Red did not directly comment on these issues, the Cyberpunk Twitter account said today, “The tour has just begun and we are working on upcoming updates and game updates.”

The CD project Red famously provided many patches to his famous world game, The Witcher 3, which had a bunch of his mistakes. It will be interesting to see how much work can be done on the console version, especially when newer-gen versions are still in development.
