Baltimore area bars and restaurants closed due to COVID-19 cases among employees – CBS Baltimore


BALTIMORE (WJZ) – If you plan to eat in the Baltimore area this week, you may want to know which restaurants are open or remain closed after several restaurants reported COVID-19 cases among employees.

Ampersea: The restaurant at Fells Point closed on July 14 after an unscheduled employee told managers that they exhibited symptoms of COVID-19. They reopened on July 17 after a deep cleanup.

“After receiving test results from our employees, as well as having our entire restaurant thoroughly and professionally sanitized, we hope to reopen for dinner service tonight! We will continue to just sit our outdoor patio and walk areas. Our staff will continually wear masks and clients will be asked to wear them anytime they are not seated. Thank you for understanding and supporting us! We hope to see you all tonight! they said in a Facebook post on Friday.

Claddagh Pub: It closed on July 5 after they said they were closing to clean up. They did not say if any member had tested positive for the virus. The pub reopened on July 7.

Cowboy Row: Closed June 29 after learning that a staff member tested positive for COVID-19. TBA reopening.

Gertrude Restaurant at the Baltimore Museum of Art: Temporarily closed because one of the restaurant’s employees tested positive for COVID-19, according to the restaurant’s Facebook on Saturday.

Gunther and company: Currently closed after an employee tested positive for COVID-19, they found out on July 17.

“We are temporarily closing not only to clean and sanitize our facilities in accordance with CDC guidelines, but also to ensure that all of our staff members are screened,” the post said.

El Bufalo Tequila Bar & Kitchen: Closed on July 3 after an employee tested positive for COVID-19. They reopened on July 15 after a “deep, deep cleaning, disinfection and misting”

Pint and Lee Peel: It closed on July 1 after learning that three employees tested positive for COVID-19. They carried out a deep cleaning in the restaurant and reopened on July 16.

Looney’s Pub: Closed June 27 after learning that an employee tested positive for COVID-19. They tested all employees, cleaned the building, and reopened on July 6 only for downstairs and outside table service.

Nacho Mama’s at Towson: Closed for the second time in July after an employee tested positive for the virus. The employee last worked on July 15.

Southern provisions: It closed on July 4 after learning that one of its staff members tested positive for the virus. Every employee is being tested. TBA reopening.

The Pig & Rooster Smokehouse: It closed on July 3 after learning that an employee tested positive for the virus. They reopened on July 7 after disinfecting the restaurant, saying they will do it once a month to ensure their guests and employees are safe.

The hunter: Closed on July 3 after learning that an employee tested positive for COVID-19. They reopened on July 7 after a deep cleanup, which they said they would perform once a month for security precautions.
