Baker Mayfield continues the warm streak; Browse beat the Giants

Baker Mayfield’s NFL career has been tumultuous.

His deceptive year, it was over. Mayfield set a record for a touchdown pass by an interest. His second year, below. He struggled badly with poor decisions and turnover. Both have had some time this season, ups after downs and then downs again.

Mayfield will stay where the Bruins are hoping for the past four games.

Mayfield is hot. He continued to roll until late in the season with a good game against the New York Giants defense. Mayfield completed 27 of 32 passes and two touchdowns for 297 yards as the Browns had an easy 20-6 win over the Giants. They are 10-4 and are likely to get a playoff berth soon.

The ambiguity about what Mayfield is as an NFL player seems to be getting worse. He looks pretty good at one stage of his career in which the quarterbacks began to differentiate themselves.

Baker Mayfield stands out again

The three matches before Sunday night were impressive for Mayfield. It has 935 yards, eight touchdowns, one interception and a passing rating of 113.5. Perhaps the most impressive performance in that stretch was the loss to the Baltimore Ravens last week. Mayfield performed multiple clutch plays and put his team in a position to win, just to see if Lamar Jackson and Ravens would take him. The Browns lost, but Mayfield was a revelation.

Mayfield’s games happened before, only he disappeared. Will be pausing to watch for a while.

Mayfield was in control Sunday night. He made very few mistakes. He distributed the ball to his recipients and threw a nice touchdown pass to touch Stin Hopper and Jarvis Landry. The Browns were never in danger of losing, thanks in part to a failed fourth-down gamble by the Giants, one on a fake field goal and the other on a Wayne Gallum on no, which was stuffed. The Giants didn’t do much in offense, but Mayfield played so well that the result was by no means questionable.

The Browns continue to push the playoffs

Browns fixed 10-4. They haven’t had their first playoff berth since 2002, but that should come soon. Cleveland looked like an average team with a good record at the start of the season, but Mayfield’s hot lead Brown seems more dangerous to the people.

Mayfield has played his best match this season since the end of Dale Beckham Jr.’s knee-jerk season, and it’s no coincidence. Mayfield is no longer forced to pass many. The Browns have a very good run game behind a strong offensive line and set Mayfield to success. He is satisfied with what the defense gives him, although he is not afraid to take some good counting chances in the downfield.

Since Mayfield’s fantastic rookie season, there were moments when Browse couldn’t be sure if there was the right person in the quarterback. Mayfield’s play had excuses to sink, but there was no guarantee he could find a stable level and stay there.

Some games in the past have been very good for the Browns. They have a double-digit win. They are almost certainly heading towards the playoffs. And their youth franchise quarterback is moving forward.
