The Avett brothers will soon return to the stage. Charlotte Motor Speedway will host the band for a drive-in concert on August 29 in Concord, North Carolina.
The concert will be the first for the band in six months and comes a day after the release of The third shine, a new studio album. There will be space for more than 1,500 cars and the program will be governed by the guidelines of social distancing. The Avett Brothers will play at the rear of the race surface with audio streaming via FM radio and video broadcast on the 16,000-square-foot screen, one of the largest in the world.
Tickets go on sale this Friday, July 17 through the event’s website by car. Members of the band’s Avett Guild fan club will have their first dibs on Thursday, July 16.
