Ava Max had doubts about her pop career: ‘I never thought I would do this through her’.

A few years after the single “Sweet But Psycho” reached number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 in June 2019 following the advancement of Ava Max – she is back on the charts with her new hit film “Kings and Queens”. The success of the track, like the singer’s / album’s first album, comes at the right time, Heaven Hell, Will be released on September 18th.

What happened to Max when he saw the “Kings and Queens” chart? (The track has also risen 24-22 on the 5 Songs 5 Songs Airplay chart on September 19.)

“I am also very thankful for the music and the people are listening! Especially during an epidemic! ”Max tells the Billboard Pop Shop podcast (listen below).

“I know a lot of people are struggling right now. Music, for me, is medicine. And I just couldn’t catch it back and I’m so glad people are responding to it. Again, I am only grateful to those who relate to this song. “

While “Kings and Queens” is Max’s second hot 100 hit film, she has been streaming big numbers over the years. Collectively, his songs have been a hit in the U.S. Received 1.17 billion non-demand streams, according to Nielsen Music / MRC data. “Sweet” is surprisingly 2 22 million out of that amount, but she has “Kings” (million million), “So I’m” (1 “(million),” Not Your Barbie Girl “(million 73 million) and” Salt “. (50 crores) .All those tunes, save for “Barbie”, are included on 15 tracks Heaven Hell Album.

Below are some highlights from Max’s chat with the Five Shop podcast, including how she is “living proof that it could take 15 years to build any industry,” in support of what Tour thinks Heaven Hell (“It’s going to be wild”) and why there’s no lock on the new album.

Can you talk to us about how “Kings and Queens” came together?

The song actually came together in so many different ways. It came in parts. Like, Madison Love and I, we – I mean, if you want to get technical – (wrote) verse and pre-chorus, and wrote that part. And then we got a chorus like (co-producer and co-writer) from Radon, but it was completely different from what we have now. So they are not called “Kings and Queens”. It has nothing to do with what you hear right now. It was just a melody. (Song “Da da da da da.”) And we were like, ‘Oh, that’s great.’ But then we just made it our own and (co-author) Leland, Madison Love and I, and (co-author / co-producer) Circuit, we came into the studio and we just made what we made. Now – “Kings and Queens.”

We saw that you listed Desmond Child among the songwriters and he threw us for a loop for a second, but then we realized (the impolation of a child-written song “If You Were a Woman”) [and I Was a Man]”) .How did he add it to the song and the melody?

You know, Circuit and Red went to the studio and they did their magic. And after we all heard it, we just liked it. I mean it was one more productive thing.

The “Kings and Queens” are sure of this empowerment – it’s very fierce. You talked about how the song fades with time. Is it always your goal to keep a kind of fitting on the theme “I’m a fierce woman” where the song is?

It seems to me, as you can see, that is a theme in my songs … I think you can say that I have definitely been told “no” many times. And I’ve reached the point where I look back now, and I’m like, “Look who’s laughing now?” Like, for instance, I just released a new song (titled “Who’s Laughing Now”). And that really means a lot to me, too. These songs, I think going through something can help someone else. And also, the proof I’m living is that it could take 15 years to build any industry, and for me it was the music industry. But, you can make it to the end. And there is a light at the end of the tunnel. And I know, you know, there have been moments in my past that are gloomy, and I never thought I’d go through it. And now, you know, I look back and I’m so glad I’m leaving and haven’t chosen a different career.

Your new album (Heaven Hell) Has been working for a while, so how does it feel (it’s almost over)?

It feels surreal… now it feels real. It didn’t feel real until today. (Editor’s note: This interview was recorded in August.) Like, OK, here we go, it’s coming out. And there’s nothing I can do about it. It’s coming out. (Laughter.) People will listen to him, and people will judge him, and people will like him, hate him. You know, I’m very polarized, and I’m familiar with it. And I’m fine with that. And I’m excited to see what songs people like.

Do you feel this kind of anxiety, “What will people think about this song?”

You know કેટલાક There are some songs on the album that people don’t expect from me. It sounds a little cold, vibrating. Anyway, not like cheering and dancing. There are two that are a little softer and I think people will definitely become like, “Oh, ok, not every song is like super enthusiasm.” But there is no ballad. It’s like mid-tempo. The only mid-tempo. (Laughs.)

It’s interesting. Why did you pamper the anti-badass on this album?

‘Because I am everything or nothing. That’s right, I really think so. I really am. And I don’t just have a ballad. If I can take an album with a bal lad, I need at least four solid bal lads. And we just didn’t want to dance and sing out there already. So I think maybe one day I will have an album full of bal lads, we’ll see. (Laughs.)

The last time you were on a podcast, a year or so ago, we talked with you about the prospect of a trip. Do you still have the vision in your mind to take music on the road, the year after the silence? Have you ever wondered what the tour looks like?

I have. It will be very, very theatrical. And it will become wild. Is the word wild. Like, it’s going to be really wild ‘because I’m a dreamer – I really see things before I finish the song. I know what the video should look like, my colors in the video. It’s very strange. I’ve been that way all my life – that’s how I look in my head. So, I’m really excited to tour. We are in the US. Made a plan for, indeed, in September and October (2020). But we couldn’t announce it, so we canceled it, because, you know. So I was excited about it, but you know, something called an epidemic hit. (Laughter.) માત્ર I just know I’m excited to be back on the road and I can’t wait for my first official world tour. Heaven Hell.
