The free crown test campaign conducted by the state and the Vorarlberg Medical Association for families visiting or inviting family members belonging to the risk group during the holidays was successfully completed Thursday afternoon, announced Governor Markus Wallner and the Minister of Health Martina Rüscher. They express great appreciation to the approximately 70 physicians who volunteered the tests, as well as to the medical support staff, hospital employees, Red Cross employees, water lifeguards, and community workers who contributed to the success of the bell. “Everyone who participated in the test campaign to protect their loved ones deserves a thank you,” emphasize Wallner and Rüscher.

Just hours after the state and the Vorarlberg Medical Association informed the public last week about the joint rapid testing campaign on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 and Thursday, December 24, 2020, the testing locations were already full. “In response to the very high demand, capacities have increased significantly. Probationary positions quadrupled in a few hours and increased to around 12,000 acceptance dates, ”reports Regional Councilor Rüscher.

In the end, a total of 16,771 people underwent rapid antigen testing as part of the community initiative. 44 and 0.26 percent of all samples were positive. These were checked by a PCR test. Because these samples have not yet been fully evaluated, it is not yet possible to say in how many tests positive results were confirmed.
