The epicenter of the earthquake, which shook Rome around 5 a.m. on Monday, was in the municipality of Fontenuova, about 20 kilometers north of the Italian capital, the Italian Institute of Geology and Volcanology (INGV) reported.
The earthquake occurred at a depth of eleven kilometers. There were no reports of damage at the moment.
