We are looking for interns of at least 20 hours per week for up to three months, among other things for “support with contact tracing, corona test agreement, and handling of various inquiries.” The remuneration on a full-time basis amounts to 1,100 euros gross or 1,500 euros gross if weekend shifts, holidays and evenings are also performed.
700 euros very little
For FSG state president Andreas Stangl, this amounts to exploitation, because the state keeps around 700 euros below the minimum wage for contract employees established in its own wage law. He could only shake his head “in the face of salary dumping apparently tolerated by Governor Stelzer.”
The crisis team, however, stated that the job offer corresponded to vacation jobs with “the usual financial compensation and of course the applicable regulations.” Support students distinguished themselves from “high school graduates and lawyers hired additionally under a regular objectification procedure” who rank higher in their temporary employment.
