“Saying goodbye to ORF Burgenland is not easy for me,” says Melanie Balaskovics. “Special tasks such as being responsible for broadcasting ‘Licht ins Dunkel’ were the impetus to look towards a new professional future. That is why the desire to put social aspects at the center of my activities has matured. Therefore, I look forward to my new areas of responsibility in the Diocese of Eisenstadt and Caritas Burgenland, where, on the one hand, I can bring all my professional experience in the world of media and communication and, on the other, I will dedicate myself to fields of social, charitable work and sociopolitical especially important. It has always given me great pleasure to work with and for the people. This dimension is now expanded with the essential factor of being there for the people who need our support. Therefore, my thanks go in particular to the bishop Diocesan Egidius Zsifkovics, who entrusted me with the leadership functions and who has placed his trust in me, ”said Balaskovics.

“It was very popular with the audience.”

Editor-in-chief Walter Schneeberger wishes his colleague all the best for his new job: “I’m crying and laughing when I realize the departure of Melanie Balaskovics. She made a significant contribution to the success of ‘Burgenland Today’ and was very popular with the audience. But I’m also happy for Melanie and I’m sure she will continue to be present in the media in her new role in the future. “

The Diocesan Bishop of Eisenstadt, Egidius Zsifkovics, warmly welcomes Melanie Balaskovics. “Today society is facing serious changes that our Caritas will have to face in the years to come in order to continue to be at the side of the weakest. This requires a personality who can continue the well-deserved path of Edith Pinter with the same commitment, the same experience and the same social heart, ”says Zsifkovics.
