The new entry regulations were published on Thursday. This is new and more precisely formulated.
Health Minister Rudolf Anschober (Greens) published his new entry regulation Thursday night in the Federal Law Gazette. It reformulates and formulates with greater precision than before the entry restrictions due to the corona pandemic, as well as the obligation of proof and quarantine. The requirements for travelers from Croatia and Bulgaria are limited to a few regions. The new regulations will officially enter into force on Saturday and will replace the previously applicable entry regulations.
A negative test result ends the 10-day quarantine
The regulation now stipulates that people entering from safe areas must show that they have only been in Austria or a safe country or area in the last ten days. Travelers who have been in a country defined as a risk area in the last ten days must present a negative molecular biological Covid-19 test or immediately enter a ten-day quarantine. In quarantine, people coming from risk areas must initiate a corona test within 48 hours. A negative test result ends the quarantine.
In the new regulation, the phrase “reasons worth considering in the family circle” is defined in more detail. A distinction is made between “unpredictable and non-postponable” reasons, such as deaths, serious illness, funerals, births or the “care of people who need support in emergencies”, and “predictable” events such as weddings, baptisms or birthday parties. The latter also includes non-regular visits to your partner.
In these “planable” cases, the ordinance’s quarantine and testing provisions apply if the entry is from a state or region that is not on the list of safe entry countries. However, in cases that cannot be postponed, entry without a negative corona test or quarantine is possible.
Multiple regions removed from risk area list
In the new regulation, several regions of Bulgaria and Croatia have been removed from the list of risk areas. The Foreign Ministry had previously converted the travel advisory for the two countries into partial travel advisories for certain regions on Thursday. The seven Croatian counties of Brod-Posavina, Istria, Koprivnica-Križevci, Osijek-Baranja, Šibenik-Knin, Varaždin and Zadar are no longer considered a risk zone. For the rest of the country, the test or quarantine obligation still applies. In Bulgaria, the conditions only apply to the administrative districts of Blagoevgrad, Burgas, Dobrich, Gabrovo, Jambol, Kardzhali, Montana, Plovdiv, Razgrad, Shumen, Sliven, Smolyan, Sofia, Stara Sagora, Targovischte and Varna.
The new entry regulations apply until March 31, 2021.
