Jealousy: man assaulted his ex-girlfriend

When the police arrived, the man first barricaded himself in the bedroom and then fled to the roof.
FRANKENMARKT. A 39-year-old German citizen from the Vöcklabruck district took the train to Frankenmarkt to his ex-partner’s apartment on January 1, 2021, driven by frenzied jealousy. Without ringing the bell beforehand or asking for admission, he kicked the apartment’s closed door. Then he closed the door again. From the anteroom he entered the glass panel of the closed kitchen door. He went into the living room, which was one floor above, and found the 44-year-old man sleeping there. The man immediately kicked and hit his ex-girlfriend and threatened her.

Neighbors called the police

When the door kicked in, the glass panel shattered and the assault occurred, the neighbors took notice and called the police.
The arriving patrol was able to contact the 44-year-old man on the third-floor balcony. Immediately after, he managed to open the apartment door. Meanwhile, the 39-year-old had barricaded himself in a bedroom. She closed the bedroom door and pushed a box in front of her. Despite lengthy negotiations, he did not abandon the blockade. Finally, the police broke down the door. A full opening was not yet possible due to the barricade. While the door resisted less and less attempts to open it, the German flees through the roof window towards the snowy roof of the three-story house.
While the fire department was installing the lift platform, the man convinced him to go back through the roof window into the bedroom after an hour’s stay and was arrested. Meanwhile, the 44-year-old was taken to Vöcklabruck hospital and treated on an outpatient basis. The Wels prosecution ordered his admission to Wels Prison.
