The basic round of the Bundesliga is coming to an end, the tension is mounting.
Because the last two rounds of the game plan will be hot. Especially for four teams still waiting for a spot in the top 6, which would mean participation in the master group.
From fifth in the table Wolfsberger AC to TSV Hartberg, WSG Tirol and eighth Austria Wien are the clubs that still have two open places for the champion or the qualifying group. Five points separate the four direct competitors, some looking for a better starting position, the other for a bad position ahead. For this, there are programs of varying difficulty.
LAOLA1 provides an overview and also shows the adjusted table based on point allocation (current state):
The leaders of the table Salzburg, Rapid, LASK and Sturm Graz are already saved and fixed in the group of champions. Admira, Altach, Ried and St. Pölten, at the bottom of the list, are definitely in the qualifying group.
The remaining four teams are still “undecided”, performance so far has been fluctuating. Some might have forced the preliminary decision earlier, while others were still able to raise their hopes thanks to a good form curve in recent weeks.
Above all, Austria, as the biggest club that still has to worry, is waiting for the first playoff, even if the chances are slim now. WAC starts off with good cards, but even this one can’t afford to make mistakes.
WOLFSBERGER AC:
Despite all the excitement surrounding former coach Ferdinand Feldhofer and head violinist Michael Liendl in recent weeks, the WAC have absolutely the best entries for a championship group spot. A win against WSG or Austria would definitely be enough to slow down a direct competitor and buy the ticket yourself. With two draws also over, a loss to WSG and a point in Vienna might be too little. With two defeats everything is possible anyway.

TSV HARTBERG:
The Styrians are on fire and have been undefeated for five games. The race brought Schopp-Elf back, with wins against WSG, Austria, LASK and Admira, as well as a draw against Ried, they took sixth place. Which speaks against the group of champions: You start the final sprint in Rapid, where you can’t take a three. In the last home game you have to play in St. Pölten. WAC’s Schützenhilfe against WSG and Austria can help. With a victory you have a good chance, each point increases your hopes.

TIROL WSG:
The Tyrolese’s sensational streak came to an abrupt halt in recent weeks, but it remains an outstanding season for the Wattener, who were traded as the number one relegation candidate. Getting into the top 6 would be the biggest achievement at the moment. A win against WAC would put an exclamation point and put the Carinthians and Hartberg under pressure if the Styrians did not score completely on Rapid. But be careful: WSG will host Rapid on the final matchday, so the tide could turn quickly again. Although: The 3-0 victory in Vienna proved that anything is possible.

FK AUSTRIA VIENNA:
On the one hand, coach Peter Stöger is happy that in recent weeks they still had a chance to sneak in, on the other hand Austria no longer really believes in that after the 0-0 derby at the latest. At least a lot of things should converge, but especially the violets with Sturm and WAC have the nominally strongest “bosses”. In the event of a loss in Graz, it could all end if Hartberg scored points at Rapid and WSG beat WAC. However, if he remains in the race, it could all come down to a final against the WAC, or the WAC is already over and Austria may have an easier game against an opponent who has already achieved their goal.
