European Minister Edstadler has called for a registration of magnets throughout Europe.

European Minister Karoline Edtstadler (ÖVP) demands a registration of magnets throughout Europe. “In the fight against political Islam, I am in favor of creating a directory of European imams like Austria’s,” Edtstadler said in an interview with the German newspaper “Welt am Sonntag”. Furthermore, “the money from the new EU budget” should not go to “organizations and associations representing Islamist and anti-Semitic positions.”

The EU budget must be strictly controlled

In this sense, strict controls on the EU budget would be important. A ban on funding Muslim mosques and associations from abroad is also conceivable in the EU, following Austria’s lead, Edtstadler said, according to the preliminary report. Austria is “a pioneer” in this area, explained the ÖVP minister, “something that is also very interesting in Denmark, for example.”

In the fight against terrorism, the ÖVP politician also demanded that cooperation and data exchange between the judicial and security authorities of the Member States be further improved. “We formulated this demand together with France and it was also adopted at the EU summit in December.”

Edtstadler justified the demand for a Europe-wide imam directory, which granted the interview according to “Welt” also in her role as “turquoise green government anti-Semitism commissioner”, as follows: “Most imams move For many EU countries, the security authorities there must know who is preaching what in which mosque. “
