Former DSDS winner Mark Medlock has surprisingly announced his professional retirement. Before the planned return, he retires from the music.
Bohlen’s protégé withdraws
DSDS chief Dieter Bohlen (66) had a special heart for Medlock after his victory on the TV show: Not only did the winning title “Now or Never” top the charts immediately, but also the next album “Dreamcatcher” initially gold and then platinum. Medlock tried it as a solo artist and finally ended his collaboration with Bohlen in 2011. From this point on, he became increasingly calm with the artist, who was increasingly withdrawing from the limelight.

Last February, Medlock wanted to return and perform in front of a large audience on the German island of Sylt. His enthusiasm for returning to the stage was limited, because in his Facebook post yesterday he announced that he would finally retire: “I have all the support I could ask for,” writes the singer. “But I know one thing and I am absolutely sure that I am no longer interested in music.” Following this message to fans, Medlock deleted his Facebook account and other social media sites.
