Chuwi Larkbox: Mini PC with 4K support

The Chuwi Larkbox is extremely small, but thanks to the built-in Intel Celeron N4100, it’s even capable of enjoying 4K media. The CPU shares the 0.16 liter case with 6 GiB LPDDR4-RAM and a 128GB SSD. However, it is not yet known if the requested price is so small.

If you often wonder where the vulture has left the keychain, you should consider buying the Chuwi Larkbox. Because the small-volume casing, after all, only 0.16 liters (61 × 61 × 43 mm), clamors to disappear into creatively managed domestic chaos. It would be a shame, because thanks to the built-in hardware, you can even play 4K media with the mini PC, which is especially recommended for portable applications.

“The smallest 4K mini PC in the world”

At least that’s how the manufacturer describes their device. The tasks that can be performed with it remain uncertain.

The system is powered by an Intel Celeron N4100, a representative of the Gemini Lake series that was unveiled in 2017. Its 4 cores clocked at up to 2.4 GHz, which should be enough for simple tasks. After all, the chip supports LPDDR4 memory, of which 6 GiBs were also installed, although no information on the clock frequency is provided. In any case, the memory in Larkbox cannot be updated.

The Intel UHD Graphics 600 drive built into the Celeron APU ensures 4K media playback, so it shouldn’t be any more. According to the VESA standard, the small cube housing must also be mountable behind the TV or monitor. The image signal is only output via HDMI, two additional USB-A interfaces and one USB-C interface are available on other interfaces. Additional connectivity includes an unspecified WLAN module and Bluetooth 5.0, an Ethernet connection is missing. For this, the headphones can be connected via the 3.5mm jack.

Price and launch not yet clear

Based on the scarce information, it can be assumed that the mini PC was designed mainly for the Asian region, where such products are more popular. The Chinese manufacturer has not yet specified a period for the international launch, nor has it given a price.
