The scorer and the unfortunate in one person was Andreas Gruber, who had to be removed from the pitch three minutes after his first goal (ninth). Thomas Goiginger (86.) rose to 2-0, before Luca Kronberger scored the late goal (90.). Gruber had seized Linz’s first opportunity immediately. The forward took a cross from Andrés Andrade directly and hit the crossbar. Soon after, the match ended for him with a knee injury.
LASK then determined the game, but Admira continued to appear dangerously in front of Tobias Lawal’s goal. Instead of team goalkeeper Alexander Schlager, who suffers from adductor problems, the 20-year-old made his second Bundesliga appearance and did well against Marcus Maier (16th) and especially against Matthias Ostrzolek (32nd).
He was able to fix his own blackout just before the break (43rd): Lawal played the ball off Andrew Wooten, who was completely alone in the penalty area, but was able to stop the Admira forward’s shot.
LASK is becoming more and more dominant
After the change, a competitive game developed before LASK became increasingly dominant. While Admira didn’t really get a chance to equalize, Gernot Trauner led first (67th) and Goiginger (71st) with the best chances for a preliminary decision.
In the end, it was turbulent again. Goiginger increased to 2-0, “using” his own roster. Johannes Eggestein had run towards the ball from an offside position, but did not intervene in the end. Shortly before the substitute Kronberger made with his connection goal after Atanga center for an exciting stoppage time. LASK survived this, and with its third win in a row, consolidated the third place in the table.
