A British snowboarder had a fatal accident on New Year’s Day in Bad Hofgastein (St. Johann im Pongau district). According to police reports, the 26-year-old fell headfirst into a meter-deep hole that he had likely missed.
After the Briton was pulled out of the hole, resuscitation attempts by the emergency doctor they called were no longer fruitful. The man must have suffocated.
