Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was named the NFL MVP of the season for the third time in his career the day before the 55th Super Bowl. The 37-year-old led the Packers to 13 regular-time wins in the American Soccer League and suffered just three losses.

However, the Packers missed the final, in the semifinals Green Bay lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers around superstar Tom Brady with 26:31. Tampa will face the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs at home Monday night (12:30 amDAZN).

Rodgers threw 48 touchdown passes in the regular season, taking a total of 70.7 percent of his throws to the man. He only made five interceptions. Rodgers is only the sixth player to receive this honor three times. Before that, it was Brady, Jim Brown, Johnny Unitas, Peyton Manning and Brett Favre.

Manning was inducted into the American Football Hall of Fame on Saturday. The 44-year-old won the title with the Indianapolis Colts (2007) and, at the end of his career, with the Denver Broncos (2016).
