The Sony sensor offers 12.3 megapixels on a diagonal of the 7.9 mm sensor. The individual pixels are 1.55 µm x 1.55 µm in size.

The previous V2 camera module uses a Sony IMX219 with 8 megapixels. The new high-quality Raspberry Pi camera carries interchangeable lenses with a C and CS lens bayonet. AC to CS adapter included. The camera module is connected to the Raspberry Pi using a 200mm cable. The camera is output in RAW12, 10, 8 and Comp8 formats, which can then be processed accordingly.

The high-quality Raspberry Pi camera can be connected to all current Raspberry Pi boards. The Raspbian standard operating system supports the module in the current version. After activation, the first photos can be taken immediately. The corresponding evaluation must take place in other software.
