The future of Werder Romano Schmid’s loan clarified

Romano Schmid will leave WAC after this season and return to Werder Bremen.

The German Bundesliga club announced on Sunday. Styria was committed by the Hanseatic in January 2019 for approximately € 1 million from Red Bull Salzburg and awarded directly to the WAC. The 20-year-old has had 37 league matches and four goals for Carinthia so far.

“Romano played a very good season in Austria until the break. He is a regular at Wolfsberger AC and was also able to gain experience in the Europa League. With these impressions, he will come back to us for the new season and will be an integral part of our Bundesliga team. Schmid also commented on the upcoming move to the North Germans, with whom he is under contract until 2023, on the Bremen website. “I look forward to the new challenge and being part of Werder Bremen next season.
