The shooter from World War I Battlefield 5 is nearing its final update. DICE is now testing what players can expect for the first time.
Lead producer Ryan McArthur shares in a blog post, plans for a final update with fans. The entry begins with a brief look at the current situation and its challenges for everyone and how players use the time for creative community content.
McArthur recalls that the current sixth chapter of Battlefield 5 “Into the Junge” ends on April 29. For the future, a last big update is planned, which should bring new content (however you see it), new weapons and game adjustments. Currently, an offer to launch the update is being submitted in June, but due to the current situation where all team members work from home, nothing is set in stone.
McArthur also shares a first look at the plans after the latest Battlefield 5 update, so there should be new content, weekly rewards, events, and more:
- New content: A new update will be released this summer.
- Weekly rewards: After the summer update, you will receive Battlefield Currency or Company Coin as weekly rewards, giving you a chance to unlock lost gear.
- Events and activities: We are also planning several weekly initiatives, such as the reintroduction of #FridayNightBattlefield servers, where the community can play Battlefield V in a friendly atmosphere. Throwback Thursdays, where we’ll be looking to put it together across all of our Battlefield titles, are also in the works.
- We continue our work in Community game updates. We are committed to bringing them into the game and will keep you informed on when you can expect them to start connecting.
Furthermore, the senior producer at DICE emphasizes that the fight against cheats continues to be spent every day. He doesn’t want to give details of the methods, because the more you reveal about them, the easier it will be for cheats to get around them. He asked fair title players to continue to participate in the fight against cheats by reporting unfair or suspicious players through the reporting feature.
Battlefield V is a first-person shooter game developed by Swedish computer game maker DICE, which was released by Electronic Arts on November 20, 2018 for PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One. This makes it the 16th part of the Battlefield game series.
