Current technology
Because although the iPhone SE 2020 looks visually similar to the iPhone 8, it still has a lot of current technology on board. To survive against the huge number of Android smartphones in the middle-class segment, the price must be right. And this is very cheap by Apple standards. The manufacturer sells the iPhone SE 2020 from 479 euros (64 GB). It is even 50 euros cheaper than the old iPhone 8. The 128GB variant costs 529 euros, the 256GB variant costs 649 euros. At these rates, Apple could have many customers who were considering switching to Android. Also, some Android users who are not satisfied with their cell phone or operating system might be tempted to change. Even more important: Apple could win many new customers with the smartphone in high-growth markets such as India or rural China. The coming weeks will show how well the new iPhone SE really sells. It can even become the best-selling smartphone in the American group.
