At an apartment building in Wals-Siezenheim (Flachgau), six perpetrators assaulted and injured a resident on Saturday night and stole a median five-digit sum of cash. Police announced Saturday. A great manhunt began.

First, ORF Salzburg reported the incident online and by radio.

Apartment residents threatened with a knife.

Around midnight, a perpetrator climbed over a railing onto the balcony of a single-story residential unit. According to the current state of the investigation, he dominated the neighbor and then let five accomplices enter through the main entrance. The group allegedly attacked the victim and threatened her with a knife to keep the money in the safe. The man suffered a bleeding head wound. The perpetrators fled with two cars and the stolen cash.

Prostitute involved in the Wals robbery?

It was not yet known if the assailant and the victim knew each other. Investigators were initially covered in details. According to ORF Radio Salzburg, two prostitutes had been ordered to enter the house shortly before and it was still unclear if there was a connection. Police did not confirm this at the moment. In the course of the search, a vehicle with four suspects was stopped in the Bavarian town of Piding. It is not known if these are the four alleged perpetrators.

Initially, the background to the act was unclear.
