Starting Friday there could be random exit checks in the Scheibbs district. The reason for this is the high incidence of seven days.
In Scheibbs district, crown-related exit controls could go into effect on Friday (tomorrow). On Thursday, the Lower Austrian state police department referred to an operational concept already developed for this case, which, according to spokesman Raimund Schwaigerlehner, provides for random checks “at critical points”. The basis for the measures will be an ordinance issued by the district administration if necessary.
The document is mandatory if the Scheibbs district is also certified on Thursday (today) by the Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES) board with a seven-day incidence of more than 400. On Wednesday, this value was 446.7 for the sixth consecutive time above the relevant threshold.
Preparations are underway at Scheibbs
Preparations were already underway in the district administration on Thursday morning. The district captain, Johann Seper, referred in an interview with ORF Lower Austria to a possible expansion of the twelve test roads that were previously available. The district has a total of about 50 exits.
The region, which is just over 1,000 square kilometers, comprises 18 municipalities and has a population of more than 41,000. The Hochkar and Lackenhof am Ötscher ski areas are also located in the district. Although the season has already ended in the latter, he will race at the Hochkar until Easter Monday. In the worst case scenario, nonresident recreational athletes must carry a valid corona negative test with them.
Provisional control balance for other regions
For the three Lower Austrian regions currently subject to exit restrictions, a new interim control balance was drawn up on Thursday. In the Wiener Neustadt-Land and Neunkirchen districts there have been a total of 19,505 checks and 1,038 refusals since 25 March. According to the police, there were no reports yet.
This is not the case in Wiener Neustadt, where exit checks have been carried out since 13 March. Up to and including Wednesday, 16 reports were registered in 61,000 controls and 970 rejections.
