Medical director Katharina Reich presented the plans to the traffic light commission. You want to get your bearings on the Christmas visiting rules. Services should be held outdoors to the extent possible.
Apparently, the government plans to relax visiting rules at Easter. The objective is to orient yourself on the rules that were prescribed for Christmas. Medical director Katharina Reich presented the corresponding plans to the traffic light commission on Thursday, according to the minutes of the meeting, which were made public on Friday. Religious events should, whenever possible, take place outdoors.
On December 24 and 25, the night-out restrictions were completely lifted. Furthermore, contact restrictions were significantly relaxed: a maximum of ten people from up to ten different households were allowed to gather. For the moment, gatherings of a maximum of four people from two different households plus minor children are allowed again.
Classes and levels of regional measures
According to Reich, a “toolbox” for regional measures in high incidence areas is also planned, although the details here have yet to be discussed with the federal states. There, three classes of federal states and two levels of official measures will be defined. In addition, the possibilities to relax the content are listed, which are linked to the achievement of certain incidence limits. The incidence values mentioned are 200 and 400 per 100,000 inhabitants. If this last limit were exceeded, an unmanageable situation would arise in the intensive care units in Vienna, for example, said Herwig Ostermann of Gesundheit Österreich GmbH.
The situation is no longer rosy. According to the forecast, coating in intensive care units will increase from 19.6 percent today to 25.5 percent by March 24. According to the protocol, it is noted that the Burgenland is expected to exceed the capacities reported as of March 16 in the intensive area. The representative of the federal state was especially critical of the availability of sufficient personnel. An intensive care coordinator will be created in all countries to address the possibility of taking care of intensive care patients in other regions with even more capacities available.
Many clusters in educational institutions
Both kindergartens and schools have long been perceived as a problem area. As before, most of the groups acquired in the educational environment are activated by educators. The positivity rate in the teacher population is around ten times higher than in the student population. Clusters have also emerged on school buses, in kindergartens, in an institution for the homeless, and in the sports and dance sector. There were sharp declines in nursing homes and nursing homes that were mostly vaccinated.
