STEYR. SK BMD Vorwärts Steyr does not start in the second division. On Friday the rojiblancos had to admit defeat in Kapfenberg with 0: 2.

At the guest appearance in Styria on Friday, coach Andreas Milot wowed with the lineup. In addition to Bojan Mustecic and Michael Drga, there was another veteran on the bench, captain Thomas Himmfelfreundpointner. Fighting spirit is not enough
The forward showed great fighting spirit, but was rarely dangerous in the game. The self-confident Kapfenbergers were able to develop more opportunities and ultimately deserved the victory. A deflected shot from Michael Lang turned into an untenable setter and got into the goal to make it 1-0 (43.). In injury time, Paul Mensah fixed the final score 2-0 on a counterattack (95th).
How many relegated people are there?
With a false start in 2021, Vorwärts is now fully in the battle for relegation. It is unclear if and how many teams will be relegated at the end of the season. In the last two years there has been no sporting relegation from the Second Division. Both Vorwärts (2018/19) and Kapfenberg (2019/20) were also the last to remain in Austria’s second highest division. In general, three teams have to go to the regional league, if all applicants have received approval from the Bundesliga or if there are athletes who have been promoted from the third division.
Four applicants
Of the three regional leagues there are only four interested in the promotion. Stripfing from the east, Wacker Innsbruck II from the west and the Regionalliga Mitte Hertha Wels and Sturm Graz fans.
