The house searches had been approved by a judge and were part of an investigation against a known person and others to be determined, says the WKStA spokeswoman. The amount of damage has yet to be determined. Dozens of investigators, from the WKStA, the Federal Criminal Police Office, the Lower Austrian State Criminal Police Office and the financial police, were on duty.
Filip Miermans, a spokesman for Lenzing AG, said at KURIER’s request later Tuesday night: “As the search for the house is still ongoing, we cannot comment on the allegations.”

According to information from KURIER, the masks are said to have come from China. The question arises: to whom was it supplied?
In January it emerged that the Lower Austrian-based company did not win a federal government tender to distribute 10 free masks to over 65s (a Chinese company did), but the Spar, Hofer and Rewe Group markets they supplied 37 million units.
The company was criticized last summer. A close relationship with the Chancellery was discussed: Managing Director Tino Wieser is the brother-in-law of a former employee of Chancellor Sebastian Kurz (ÖVP). She is married to Luca Wieser, he and his brother Tino are the owners of Palmers AG.
