The leader of the table, SV Licht-Loidl Lafnitz, is back on the road to victory immediately after the latest slide against FC Juniors Oberösterreich. The Styrians won 1-0 at home against the FAC at the start of Matchday 16 of the 2nd Division on Friday night, thus scoring three points in the last nine games for the eighth time. The advantage over FC Liefering ineligible for promotion was initially increased to seven points.
The “steers” will only be in action on Sunday in the Rapid team of two. Lukas Fadinger, on loan from Bundesliga Hartberg, scored the decisive goal for Lafnitz in the 19th minute. No further goals were scored, although the Viennese had to act outnumbered from the 31st minute after a red card for Tin Plavotic. The Croatian center-back hit Fadinger with his foot in the face with a high ball.
The FAC fell back to twelfth in the table as SV Horn celebrated a 4-3 win against Austria Lustenau thanks to a double from Marco Siverio (22, 49) and is now eighth, ahead of ninth Vorarlbergers. At the end of the table, Young Violets Austria Wien returned the red bluff to the offspring of local rivals Rapid, who are now two points away. The deciding factor was a 3-1 win over Juniors OÖ, which was achieved by Niels Hahn (56th), Christoph Martschinko (65th) and Muharem Huskovic (72nd).
