The Wienwert-Gesellschaft is said to have made a profit of around € 800,000 from the sale of a property it had bought only a few months earlier. The focus is on Ernst Nevrivy, director of the Danube city district.

In the case of the case against the president of the Donaustadt district, Ernst Nevrivy (SPÖ), new details were revealed on Monday. According to the records available to the APA, Immofirma Wienwert purchased land through a project company which was sold to Wiener Linien at a significantly higher price. The difference should have been around 800,000 euros.

Nevrivy, who denies the allegations, is suspected of relaying inside information to Wienwert to make the deal possible. The business and corruption prosecutor’s office is investigating the head of the red light district. It is about the suspicion of violation of official secrecy, corruption, contribution to infidelity and acceptance of benefits to influence. The focus of the investigation is a 2017 property deal.

Properties purchased on Attemsgasse

At the time, according to the documents, Wiener Linien had planned and later decided to buy neighboring properties to a remise on Attemsgasse in Kagran. Nevrivy learned of the intention and then the decision of the transport company’s supervisory board. It is said that he passed this internal information in an email with the attachment “intern-pdf” to the head of the real estate company Wienwert and WW Holding, which went bankrupt in 2018, Stefan Gruze.

The Vienna FPÖ have now also leaked documents on the relevant contracts. Consequently, the project company purchased the area in question in October 2017 for € 1.3 million. Almost a year later, the transport companies had to disburse 2.15 million euros net for this concept; grossly it should have been almost 2.7 million euros. According to the FPÖ, the results of the investigation also show that Nevrivy not only received VIP tickets for football matches, but has also actively requested 30,000 euros in sponsorship for the Wiener Wahnsinn Kultband OG.

Lawyer speaks of “open secret”

Nevrivy’s legal representative, Volkert Sackmann, has already expressly denied the allegations. Wiener Linien’s planned project had already been an open secret in previous years, “so my client was unable to reveal any official secrets,” he told APA over the weekend. Wienwert had been interested in a property near the Remise long before the period around which the investigations revolved and had made an offer to buy.

Nevrivy only introduced the future sponsor to the members of the Wiener Wahnsinn. The politician did not know what agreement they had made. Invitations to soccer games should also not be seen as an acceptance of benefits, he said.

FPÖ call for U-Commission

The leader of the Viennese FPÖ, Dominik Nepp, however, reiterated his call for a community council investigative commission to be established on Monday. “It is obvious that the Viennese taxpayers have suffered massive damage as a result of this SPÖ deal. Wiener Linien must also remain harmless and claim the money they paid too much. Now it is up to the ÖVP whether it is ready to set up a U-Commission to agree or the SPÖ will close the wall again, ”Nepp asked for support.

The Freedom Party alone cannot create such a commission. This requires the signature of 30 agents. However, since the autumn elections, the FPÖ has only eight seats on the municipal council.
