One day late, on Monday (10:50 am) the last women’s ski race before the World Cup will take place in Cortina d’Ampezzo. After the weather-related postponement on Sunday, the women of ÖSV will battle for the last entries to the World Cup on Monday in the second Super-G in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The top favorite is Lara Gut-Behrami, who dominates the Super-G this season. The Swiss has won the last three races in this discipline and was in her class at the first Supger-G at Garmisch on Saturday with a 68-cent lead.
We opened the race with Kajsa Lie Vickhoff (NOR), who was able to show second place on Saturday. Christine Scheyer is the first Austrian to take part in the race with the number 2. The Vorarlberg rider recently reached fifth place twice in a row. Austria’s best Super-G runner of the current season, Tamara Tippler, starts at number 11.
Of the favorites, Corinne Suter (SUI) decided to start number 5. Lara Gut-Behrami starts the race with number 7, Federica Brignone (ITA) has decided for 9. Italian Sofia Goggia is missing after her fall yesterday on the way to the valley (more info >>).
Ricarda Haaser was drawn to No. 16 and Stephanie Venier starts at No. 19 on the Kandahar route.
Starting numbers for the other Austrians: 22 Rosina Schneeberger, 26 Ariane Rädler, 27 Michaela Heider, 30 Mirjam Puchner, 31 Nadine Fest, 38 Sabrina Maier.
