“The federal government must provide a clear opening plan, both for schools and for retail,” demands the head of NEOS in an interview with the APA. In any case, the schools would have to open first, Meinl-Reisinger said. “We owe it to the students, also with regard to their mental health. Schools have become safer thanks to the possibility of periodic testing, together with the requirements of masks and ventilation concepts, the opening steps are definitely possible “, emphasizes the president of NEOS and also refers to a study of the Complexity Science Hub in cooperation with AGES, in which the different concepts of prevention in schools were measured and evaluated in detail.

There should also be a clear opening prospect for retailers, hair salons, and museums as of February 8. “Entrepreneurs finally need perspective and planning capacity. Cautious opening steps must be taken, with proper distance rules, FFP2 mask requirement and possibly also regional differentiation. This is also necessary in view of the high unemployment figures,” Meinl emphasizes . -Reisinger.
