ICE Hockey League: KAC confidently wins in Salzburg – winter sports – ice hockey

On Matchday 40 of the ICE Hockey League, KAC once again presented itself in sovereign fashion and achieved a deserved 3-1 (1-0, 1: 1, 1-0) victory at Red Bull Salzburg.

The “cops” got off to a much better start to the game and the “red jackets” restricted themselves to their own defense, but the goal was not achieved. The Klagenfurters attack in their first outnumbered game: Ticar falls for Fraser, who defeats RBS goalkeeper Eliasson with a precise wrist shot at the Kreuzeck – 1-0 (13./PP)!

More and more guests take over, but Raffl can almost equalize on the breakaway (15th). Obersteiner and Ticar fail only for the KAC ahead of Eliasson (17, 20).

In the middle section, Salzburg is closing in again as Schofield drifts away from a distance and Raffl deflects the puck into Dahm’s goal: 1: 1 (29)! This is followed by penalties every minute and another game that is outnumbered is the downfall of the “cops.” Wonderful tic-tac-toe of the KAC offense, in the end Manuel Geier puts the game team in the goal and takes the lead again (38./PP).

The final leg becomes a clear matter for the KAC, who barely allow anything and put the lid on shortly before the end of the game: Eliasson is out of the gate, Postma fails with his attempt from his own third on pole. Raffl wants to rebuild the game and plays the puck exactly in Haudum’s hand, who slides into the empty goal – 3: 1 (58./EN)!

The KAC achieved their fifth consecutive victory and claimed second place in the table with 71 points, Red Bull Salzburg still had all the cards in hand in the race for the remaining playoff berth and was sixth with 60 points.

Fehervar mob festival

In the ICE Hockey League side game, Fehervar shoots table leader Bolzano 7: 4 (0: 2, 6: 1, 1: 1).

In the first third, the Hungarians can only keep up at first, then Bolzano clearly takes command. The Foxes go ahead with the third great opportunity: Catenacci is not sufficiently attacked from the left and defeats Janus with a shot to the legs (11th). Bolzano keeps the pace high and comes through Miceli (15./PP) to the second hit, who joins the target from the middle left position to the right corner of the center.

The second third, which is a true mob festival, is very different. Two quick shots from Lahti (23rd) and Bartalis (25th) equalize. A few seconds later, Kähkönen (26th) takes the lead, which Gazley can make up for after a serious mistake by Janus (28th).

Then it takes a full five minutes for the next blows to land. Kuralt (33rd) defeats Irving with a first. Bolzano’s defense is anything but firm throughout the third, Bartalis (35th) ensures the 5: 3 in the breakaway. Then the Foxes negotiate another penalty, Erdely (39./PP) marks the end of this stretch with a 6: 3.

In the last section, Fehervar lets the opponent come, but Bozen doesn’t show up enough. Halmö’s goal (53./PP) is not enough to put the Hungarians in serious trouble. Hargove (58./PP) scores the final score after a pass from Kuralt.

Thanks to seven goals conceded, it is also clear that Bolzano can no longer break KAC’s all-time record, the lowest number of goals conceded. The South Tyrolese have only been allowed to concede five goals in the last five games.

With the victory, Fehervar remains one point behind KAC in third place, the “Foxes” are five points ahead of second-placed “Rotjacken”.

Setback for VSV

VSV have to accept a setback at home to Bratislava’s direct competitor in the fight for the qualifying round bonus points. Rob Daum’s team got under the wheels with 1: 5 (1: 1, 0: 0, 0: 4).

At the beginning of the game an even game develops, there are possibilities on both sides. In the 13th minute the lead fell for the guests: Hudec scored the 0: 1 with a long-lasting shot, VSV goalkeeper Kristers Gudlevskis looking unwell.

The eagles respond only seconds later: Kosmachuk with the center from the left, Gill holds the bat and ties (14th).

The middle section is similar, the VSV has several opportunities, but it lacks the necessary efficiency. Both teams slow down a bit as the season progresses and no more goals are scored.

In the last third, the hosts are overwhelmingly superior at first, but the goals fail again. Kevin Schmidt, Chris Collins and newcomer Renars Krastenbergs each fail against Coreau.

The Bratislava capitals coldly punished him: in just over four minutes, Peter Draisaitl’s team decided the match in favor of the visiting team with three quick blows. Hudec (51.), pretending to be a Hults Blueliner, puts together the double pack. Fortier (53rd) and Kostsitsyn (54th) follow suit. The VSV is completely out of the way and even has to accept Brock Higgs’ 1: 5 in the 58th minute.

With the defeat, the VSV goes to occupy the tenth and penultimate place of the table. After the victory, the capitals of Bratislava remain tied with Innsbruck for ninth place.

Three shorthanders become the bane of Black Wings

HC Innsbruck successfully designed the first part of your road trip. The Tyrolese clearly prevail in the Black Wings with 4: 1 (2: 1, 1: 0, 1: 0) and celebrate the second consecutive victory.

The “Haie” take their first early game penalty, but on the first penalty kill, of all things, they cool down the Linz, and twice! Linz loses head-to-head in the offensive third, Christoffer and Ciampini execute the counterattack perfectly and the latter hits the goal at the net – 1-0 (4./SH)

If that wasn’t enough, Kickert’s bell rings again for about 40 seconds. Again the Innsbruckers execute a counterattack, Christoffer is ideally sent on the trip and stays alone in front of the Linz goalkeeper and makes it 2-0 (4./SH).

You can see Christoffer’s 2: 0 HERE in the video:

The Black Wings take a long time to meet, but they arrive in the 19th minute of the game to the connecting goal from Lebler, who takes a heart and hits the target under the bar (19./PP).

Starting from the middle section, a completely dissolute game unfolds with many penalties on both sides, Innsbruck using one of them to his advantage. Ciampini is left completely alone in the slot and tied his double pack in excess (40./PP).

The last third is more open again, the Black Wings also have better opportunities, but the Tyrolese make the decision. About two minutes before the end of the game, Lattner slips the deficit puck into the orphan goal – 4: 1 (58./SH,EN)!

HC Innsbruck remains eighth with the success and 44 points, the duel in the Capitals of Bratislava is already on Saturday (from 5.30 pm on the LIVE ticker). Linz has to take the 27 total bankruptcy after regular playing time and with 25 points he is the last place in the ICE Hockey League.
