LK elections: Strasser and Totschnig congratulate the winners of the elections in Upper Austria and Styria

Z. NR DI Georg Strasser and Bauernbund Director Mag Norbert Totschnig, the two main candidates for the Bauernbund.
Earnings in Styria, Upper Austria can defend mandates
More than 65 percent for the Bauernbund: In Upper Austria, 65.21 percent voted for the Bauernbund, which will place confirmed president Michaela Langer-Weninger as the main candidate and 24 of 35 seats in the farmers’ parliament for the next six years.
Franz Titschenbacher and his team received 70.25 per cent (+ 0.54%) of the votes and thus 29 out of 39 mandates that they would continue to represent farmers ‘concerns in the Styrian state farmers’ parliament .
Voter turnout has fallen in Upper Austria by almost 50 per cent and in Styria by around 30 per cent compared to the last elections. The lower turnout is likely due to circumstances related to Covid-19 and voting by mail.

You have also shown in recent years that you have the necessary expertise and negotiating skills. Therefore, together we were able to implement many long-term concerns and demands of farm families, especially in 2020. These have repeatedly strengthened their backs today. I am sure that we can continue to implement a lot with Franz Titschenbacher and I would also like to congratulate him on his electoral victory, ”said Totschnig.
