In January, plus staff willing to get vaccinated in nursing homes and hospitals, a total of 48,000 primary vaccinations were carried out in Upper Austria. Those who are faster are vaccinated earlier

The vaccine is distributed evenly among the districts according to the number of inhabitants. Next, it is determined who receives the first vaccinations according to the principle of “first come, first served”, that is, whoever signs up first also has a turn before. “Those who have not yet received their turn will be notified and contacted,” explains Christina Pilsl, vaccination coordinator for the state of Upper Austria.

The plan for the next few weeks is underway

Last week 985 people were vaccinated in nursing homes and hospitals (including employees), this week 11,155 are expected. Next week, 23,400 inhabitants of Upper Austria are expected to receive the long-awaited vaccination and again 13,400 in the last week of January. Currently, only the Biontech Pfizer vaccine is available. The federal government is responsible for purchases, Upper Austria receives one sixth of the amount available throughout the country. “All available cans will be inoculated immediately,” Haberlander guarantees.
