Even general practitioners are too slow to vaccinate. You want to take matters into your own hands.
As of Monday, January 11, 30,000 people have been vaccinated in Austria, which is a good 3,000 vaccinations per day. This is too slow for Austrian family doctors, they offer to make a contribution. But the vaccine is missing.
“I could vaccinate about 100 patients a day. But we don’t know when the vaccine will be given to us,” Dr. Wolfgang Mückstein, who runs a group practice in Mariahilf, said in front of the “Kronen Zeitung.” In order to be able to inoculate substances from all manufacturers, he even bought a special refrigerator.

Meanwhile, the Vienna Medical Association says they are awaiting the vaccination plan from the Ministry of Health. Vorarlberg shows that he can do without this. With only a quarter of the population, as many people were vaccinated as in Vienna, including civil servants and young pharmacists.
The federal states themselves have recently been in charge of distributing the vaccine doses themselves. “Politicians really have to step on the gas now. Everything is going too slow,” demands Mückstein. The ordinations have a clear advantage here over the anonymous vaccination centers and the vaccination campaigns, after all, they know their patients personally and can directly advise and convince them.
“The older, sooner, and medical personnel first” is the only vaccination schedule a medical professional needs. Also, everyone should be able to choose which vaccine from which manufacturer they want to be given.
