Head of IHS Univ.-Prof. Dr. Martin Kocher becomes the new labor minister
Vienna (OTS) – Salzburg-born economist, university professor and director of the Institute for Advanced Study (IHS) Dr. Martin Kocher was introduced today by Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz as the new Labor Minister. “Leading economist Martin Kocher is the right answer to the enormous challenges of the job market. As a result of the pandemic, unemployment is currently reaching record levels of more than half a million people. Kocher has already participated in the creation of measures in the Ministry of Labor in recent months. As the new Minister of Labor, you can go to work immediately and help shape economic reconstruction after the Corona crisis. I am convinced that Martin Kocher has the best prerequisites for this key complex and that his experience is a great asset to the governance team, ”said Bauernbund President Abg. z. NR DI Georg Strasser.
“We would like to thank Christine Aschbacher for her valuable work as Federal Minister this past year. He headed the Federal Ministry of Labor, Family and Youth at a time of great challenges. We appreciate your trust and good cooperation and we respect your personal decision, ”said Strasser.
