Traumatic brain injury! The first report of Mauro Caviezel’s injury after a training accident at Garmisch-Partenkirchen sounded dramatic.
But the go-ahead comes from Tom Stauffer, the Swiss head coach: “The diagnosis of traumatic brain injury in Mauro’s case sounds more brutal than it is. He just suffered a severe concussion.”
There are still uncertainties about the severity of a knee injury. But Stauffer is also positive: “As you see right now, the knee injury is not that serious either. An investigation on Friday will bring clarity.
Caviezel tore his Achilles tendon in preparation for the summer, but got back in shape in time for the season. And he won the first sprint race of the season in Val d’Isere.
