Thomas Grumser, Ronald Brunmayr and Gerhard Schweitzer were three of the contenders, but the choice fell on someone else: Miron Muslic, who has been head coach of second division club Floridsdorfer AC since the summer, will take over SV Ried.
As reported exclusively by the OÖN and adopted by various outlets, the 38-year-old, who lives with his wife and three children in Altmünster am Traunsee, was invited to Rieder’s office on Wednesday for a chat. Then it happened very quickly: an agreement was reached that night.
Muslic’s second division finished the fall season with 17 points from 13 games. In the cup, Floridsdorfer reached the round of 16, with a victory against Wattens of the Bundesliga, among other things, where they finished against Austria Klagenfurt.

With Muslic’s order, SV Ried’s coaching team will also change. Christian Heinle, the Young Vikings coach, and Clemens Zulehner are Muslic’s new co-coaches. Hubert Auer continues to take care of the Ried goalkeepers as goalkeeping coach, Andreas Berktold continues as track and field coach.

The 38-year-old, considered a meticulous, loud and emotional coach, knows SV Ried well. Until the summer of 2020, Muslic worked for SV Ried for several years, including at the junior academy, but also as an assistant combat team coach.
The match against Vienna Austria on January 23 will not be Muslic’s first as SV Ried’s head coach.
